A Vision for Twyford

"Twyford 2020" is a parish plan which represents the views of residents and their hopes and aspirations for the next 10 years. It sets out the actions required to achieve this vision for Twyford by the year 2020.

Why have a parish plan?

The local community defines the issues to be tackled in a parish plan and develops a shared vision for the future. It is a valuable tool which provides:
• A basis for action by people in the parish
• A point of reference for bidding for grants
• A way to influence decisions in planning and community strategies

How was information gathered?

The Twyford parish plan began at the Scout Donkey Derby on 1 June 2008. Residents used post-it notes to comment on what they liked and disliked about living in Twyford.  Later that year, a series of 'healthchecks' were conducted to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to the community and in April 2009 a questionnaire was sent out to each of the 2,761 households in the parish.  Finally,  a series of focus group meetings were held to discuss common areas of concern in more depth.

When was the plan launched?

The plan was launched at our AGM in April 2010.
